Natural stone exporters' new target market: Canada



Canada's annual import for construction market is approximately $ 29 billion. West Mediterranean natural stone exporters participated in Construct Canada - The Buildings Show aiming to penetrate Canadian construction market by exporting high quality Turkish natural stones.

West Mediterranean Exporting Association is continiously working to reach $500 million export volume in marble industry in near future which is currently $ 400 million. To do so, participants of West Mediterranean Natural Stone Cluster Project which has been undertaking by West Mediterranean Exporters Association and supported by Turkish Ministry of Economy participated in Construct Canada - The Buildings Show that held in Toronto, Canada.

Taking into consideration of Canada's ranking in World 6th place in construction materials importation, participating in forementioned fair was important for West Mediterranean region. The represantatives of project companies' as well as representatives from our Association took their places in the fair ground with an info booth. Company representatives seized the chance of promoting their products and make bilateral business talks with international buyers, architects and engineers.

West Mediterranean Exporters Association was represented by Member of the Board Selçuk BAYSARI, Secretary General Fisun EVRENSEVDI PEKTAS, Members of Mining Committee Ahmet TEKIN and Muhammed BASARIR. The Consul General of Turkey in Toronto, Erdeniz SEN visited our booth and gave crucial information regarding Canadian market. Within the delegation's programme, important natural stone importers of Toronto region, namely Home Depot Canada, Crystal Tile, Marble Granite Depot, Olympia Tile, Stone Tile, Ceragres, Ciot and Anatolian Tile were visited and natural stone trends and stone qualifications were investigated.
