Food Cluster visited the USA


In the scope of International Competitiveness Development Project(URGE), West Mediterranean Food Cluster was in the United States between 12th and 19th Jan. 2019, aiming to increase export of the its regional food and agricultural products. Chairman of the Board of Directors of BAIB Mr.Hakki Bahar, BAIB Vice Chairman Mr.Hakki Ergin Civan, Board Members Mr.Süleyman Duran, Mr.Bahadir Erdogan and BAIB TIM Delegate Mr.Murat Güngör and agricultural and food products exporters took part in the delegation of BAIB. The delegation held business meetings with wholesalers, representatives of supermarket chains and paid visits to production facilities, wholesale markets and warehouses in San Francisco and Los Angeles as part of the US program.

In the framework of the program, West Mediterranean delegation also visited Los Angeles Consul General and Commercial Attaches in our Consulate. During the visit ideas were exchanged on export-oriented issues, particularly on agricultural and food products. 

On the way back to Turkey Mr. Hakki Bahar evaluated the program, "As BAIB delegation, we conducted meetings, visits and made observations in the USA. Our aim is to be able to export more of our products to the USA. In this context, we held important meetings at fruit and vegetable wholesale markets, supermarket chains and warehouses. The delegation made observation on fresh fruit and vegetable, milk and dairy and food businesses in the US.”
